The Role:

Title:Program Associate/Sr. Associate

Reports To:Program Coordinator

Location:Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Program Management:

  1. The program associate will closely work with the waste-collectors community and scarp shops for their overall social and economic development.

  2. The associate will be responsible for a variety of cross-functional roles within foundation projects, to work closely with the Program Coordinator and other team members of the Plastics For Change.

  3. 对有效的PFC印度基金会(公关工作ofit) program delivery management and the associate core duties will be to assist and support day-to-day community interventions activities w.r.t social and financial inclusion, health, nutrition and education programs, skill development, housing, supplies distribution, stakeholder development and management, networking and follow-up activities.

  4. Manage and groom a team of project field workers/teachers, assigning KPI’s and monitoring them.

  5. Implement, manage, improve, build capacity and monitor fair trade/ethical sourcing practices, labour laws, ESG policies and HR compliance standards at the supply partners and scrap shops.

  6. Coordinate with local authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure benefits are implemented.

  7. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with supply partners, and scrap shops.

  8. Undertake scheduled site visits.

  9. Monitor, develop and sustain supply partners and scrap shops through PFC rating and incentive systems.

  10. Manage the developmental journey of the supply partners and scrap shops.

  11. Support in the preparation of the program logical framework, timeline, M & E framework and budget.

Reporting and Documentation:

  1. Log KPI data into our application to monitor performance.

  2. Ensuring timely, concise and accurate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on prescribed formats and applications.

General responsibilities:

  1. Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritization of workload skills.

  2. 确保PFC政策,安抚和协议re being adhered to at all levels of the company.

  3. Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.

  4. Willingness to travel frequently across India, sometimes at short notice, including other places as per need of project or company.

  5. Work closely with the PFC team and Partners.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

  • For Senior Program Associate -3+ Years experience and Post Graduation in Social Work (Specialized in Community Development / Social Development / Rural Development / Women Studies) is required

  • For Program Associate -Freshers to 3 years experience in program management in the social sector.

  • Experience working with the informal sector workforce.

  • Good understanding of social and environmental concepts and methods.

  • Experience of being part of any program/project management or field work would be an added advantage.

  • Engagement, plastics recycling, waste management will be helpful.

  • Fluency in English, Kannada/Tamil/Malayalam, and Hindi languages.


  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work.

  • Open to new challenges.

  • Good data management, documentation and reporting skills.

  • Good computer skills – MS Office and Working on CRM tools.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.

  • Eye for detail.

  • Able to learn new systems, methods, processes and procedures.

  • Able to meet deadlines and produce quality outputs.

  • Proactive and self-motivated.

  • Humility, honesty, transparency, integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
